A profile is stored information that we keep on individual Visitors that detail their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to a Visitor’s personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the Web site and mobile applications for the Visitor. This profile is used to tailor a Visitor’s visit to our Web site and mobile applications, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. We do not share this profile with other third parties.

EBIX requests information from the Visitor on order forms. A Visitor must provide contact information (such as name, email, and address).

Refer a Friend, Surveys and Customer testimonials

Customers and Visitors may elect to use the Company’s referral program to inform friends about the Company’s Web sites or Services. When using the referral program, the Company requests the friend’s name and email address. EBIX will automatically send the friend an email inviting him or her to visit the Company’s Web sites.

From time to time our site requests information from Customers via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice of whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as ZIP code).

EBIX posts a list of Customers and testimonials on the Company’s Web sites that contain information such as Customer names and titles. EBIX obtains the consent of each Customer prior to posting any information on such a list or posting testimonials.

EBIX sends all new Customers a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established Customers will occasionally receive information on products, services, and special deals. Out of respect for the privacy of our Customers, an ‘opt out’ or ‘remove from list’ feature is provided with all these communications. Customers may also contact EBIX via phone, fax or e-mail or postal mail to opt out. Contact information is provided at the bottom of this policy.

Service Announcements

On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service-related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send users an email. Generally, Customers may not opt out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.

EBIX communicates with Customers on a regular basis to provide requested services and, regarding issues relating to their accounts, we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the Customer’s wishes.

Information Sharing

Though EBIX makes every effort to preserve Customer privacy, EBIX may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site. Customers of our Services are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that require an outside party.

Security

Our Web site and mobile applications takes every precaution to protect Visitor’s information. When Visitors submit or retrieve sensitive information via the Web site or mobile applications, their information is protected both online and offline. When our registration/order form for Services asks Customers to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect Customer information offline. All of our Customer’s information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job function (e.g., Billing, Customer Service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. EBIX employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. Furthermore, all EBIX employees are required to participate in annual security and privacy training.

EBIX’s Customers may electronically submit data or information to the Services for hosting and processing purposes (“Customer Data”). EBIX will not review, share, distribute, or reference any such Customer Data except as provided in the EBIX Master Subscription Agreement, or as may be required by law. In accordance with the EBIX Master Subscription Agreement, EBIX may access Customer Data only for the purpose of providing the Services or preventing or addressing service or technical problems or as may be required by law.
